1. Broccoli sprouts and broccoli seed lot W4105 — Salmonella

Direct answer: Yes — recalled. Evergreen Fresh Sprouts, LLC (Moyie Springs, ID) recalled broccoli sprouts with Use By dates 9/07, 9/09, 9/11, 9/14, and 9/16 of 2026 and UPC 8 38796 00105 1. FDA/CDC linked the product to a multistate Salmonella Bovismorbificans outbreak (32 people ill in ID, MN, MT, OR, UT and WA, 3 hospitalizations, no deaths in FDA’s advisory updated October 9, 2026; investigation ongoing). Confirmed distribution: ID, MT, WA (may have spread further). The sprouts’ Use By dates have passed.

Seeds: on October 7, 2026 FDA reported that a seed sample from the seed supplier matched the outbreak strain; the supplier recalled broccoli seed lot W4105. Recalled consumer seed products include HOME GROWN Green Sprouting Calabrese Broccoli Seeds, 8 oz (EAK Distribution; UPC 850056627443, lot code AUG172026 on the top seal; Amazon, August 20 – September 18, 2026) and Eden Brothers Broccoli Seeds – Calabrese (Packet, 1 oz and 1 lb; lots 1022067 and 1022068; EdenBrothers.com and Amazon, July 8 – September 28, 2026). Do not sprout, plant or share them.

Gardeners Basics Waltham 29 Broccoli Sprouting Seeds were recalled in a company announcement published by FDA on October 8, 2026, and added to FDA’s outbreak advisory October 9. Match the white and green resealable 1 pound (454 g) pouch, UPC 848137042889, marked Packed for 2027. Sold nationwide through Amazon, gardenersbasics.com, TikTok Shop, Walmart, eBay and Etsy. The supplier’s September 26 notification to Gardeners Basics preceded the October 8 consumer announcement.

Stop using these Gardeners Basics seeds because they may contain Salmonella. Do not eat the seeds or sprouts grown from them. Seal and discard both in a bag; no return is required. 2. Everything Sprouts / Calco alfalfa sprouts — STEC and Salmonella

Direct answer: Yes — recalled (separate outbreak). Everything Sprouts, LLC (Minneapolis, MN) recalled alfalfa sprouts sold under the Everything Sprouts and Calco brands, plus mixes that used those sprouts, after a multistate outbreak of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli and Salmonella. As of FDA’s October 1, 2026 update: 76 people ill in 16 states, 6 hospitalized, no deaths; illnesses started May 31 – September 7, 2026, and the investigation is ongoing. FDA says the best-by dates of these sprouts have passed. The outbreak is now linked to the recalled alfalfa seed lot SAL2-24JB (section 3), which at least one other sprout grower also used.

Direct answer: Yes — the common alfalfa seed lot tied to the Everything Sprouts outbreak was recalled as ISS lot SAL2-24JB (50 lb bags, 43,799 lb) by International Sprout Holdings Inc. / International Specialty Supply. Home sprouting seed: Berlin Seeds (Millersburg, OH) recalled 950 lb of Berlin Seeds Alfalfa Sprouting Seed from that lot on September 23, 2026. It was sold in the company’s store and online from February 13 to August 23, 2026, in 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb, 1 lb, 5 lb and 50 lb bags; only the 5 lb and 50 lb bags show lot code SAL2-24JB.
