Recalled or Not? has no user accounts. This page describes the data the site actually uses.

Search queries

Product and vehicle-model searches are sent to this site’s API so it can request matching public records from CPSC, FDA and NHTSA. Those terms travel through Cloudflare’s CDN and Vercel hosting to reach this API and the relevant official data sources. Official agencies receive the request needed to return public recall data.

Vehicle identification numbers

VINs are not submitted to this site’s API. A VIN check opens NHTSA’s VIN lookup in your browser and sends the VIN only to NHTSA.

Hosting, proxy and analytics

The site is hosted on Vercel. Traffic is proxied by Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process request logs as part of CDN and security operation. Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights and Vercel runtime logs record visits, performance and server errors. Google Analytics (measurement ID G-JZTT7MHGPZ) counts visits and whether a product or model search returned a match. These tools may set cookies or similar identifiers.

What we do not collect

There is no sign-in, mailing list or payment flow. Do not send passwords, medical details or other sensitive data in the search box.
