On September 23, 2026, Berlin Seeds (Millersburg, OH) recalled 950 lb of Berlin Seeds Alfalfa Sprouting Seed after its seed supplier told it the seed came from lot SAL2-24JB.

Because the small bags carry no lot code, Berlin Seeds alfalfa sprouting seed bought in that period cannot be cleared by checking the bag. The company asks consumers not to sprout, plant or give it away, to throw away any sprouts already grown from it, to put the seed in the trash in a sealed bag, and to clean and sanitize jars, trays and sprouters it touched.
