Yes. Evergreen Fresh Sprouts, LLC recalled broccoli sprouts for possible Salmonella contamination tied to a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Bovismorbificans (32 people ill in six states). Recalled broccoli seeds (seed lot W4105)
FDA tested seeds from the seed supplier identified in the investigation; the sample matched the outbreak strain by whole genome sequencing, and the supplier recalled seed lot W4105. These consumer products were packed from that lot:
- HOME GROWN Green Sprouting Calabrese Broccoli Seeds, 8 oz, Heirloom — EAK Distribution LLC, Casper, WY (recalled October 2, 2026). Packet (item code SVBRO111-qb1), 1 Ounce (SVBRO111-qb2) and 1 Pound (SVBRO111-qb4); Eden Brothers lots 1022067 and 1022068, supplier lot W4105, Use By 2026. The lot number is printed on the packet or bag. Sold on EdenBrothers.com and Amazon.com nationwide from July 8 to September 28, 2026, depending on size. - Gardeners Basics Waltham 29 Broccoli Sprouting Seeds — Gardeners Basics, Spanish Fork, UT (company announcement and FDA publication October 8, 2026; added to FDA’s outbreak advisory October 9). White and green resealable pouch, 1 pound (454 g), UPC 848137042889, marked Packed for 2027. Sold nationwide online through Amazon, gardenersbasics.com, TikTok Shop, Walmart, eBay and Etsy. The company was notified of supplier lot W4105’s recall on September 26; that notification date is separate from the October 8 consumer announcement.
Do not sprout, plant, eat or share recalled seeds, or use them for microgreens. Eden Brothers asks customers to seal the seeds in a bag and put them in household trash, not compost, and to wash hands and any surfaces or containers that touched them. FDA says it will update its advisory if more downstream recalls are announced.
Gardeners Basics action: stop using the affected seeds; do not eat the seeds or any sprouts grown from them. Seal both in a bag and discard them; no return is required.
