Seven notices from Canada, the EU and the US: food hazards, unsafe LED keys, trimmer fire risk and an earlier grill-brush recall.
Seven official notices observed in this reporting window. Each notice keeps its original date; inclusion here does not mean it was first announced today.
CANADA · Peanut warning for Nora's Mint Chip dessert Official notice: October 8, 2026 · CFIA RA-82637 Nora's 500 mL Mint Chip Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert was recalled for peanut missing from its ingredient declaration. Check UPC 6 27843 81424 5, lot TG-BF093T and the printed best-before code 03APR2028. Distribution includes Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, with other provinces or territories possible. People with a peanut allergy should avoid the affected dessert. Return the recalled product to the seller or discard it, following CFIA's instructions.
CANADA · Metal wire in President's Choice gingersnap cookies Official notice published: October 8, 2026 · CFIA RA-82751 The notification covers 350 g packs of English-Style Gingersnap Cookies, UPC 0 60383 76819 5, bearing best-before codes 2027 FE 08 or 2027 MR 14. CFIA lists national distribution and a Class 2 recall. Its notice addresses retailers and says the affected stock must be taken out of sale, service and distribution. Check the package identifiers against the official notice.
CANADA · GIANT bicycle-lock LED keys Official notice: October 8, 2026 · Health Canada RA-82619 The LED keys supplied with certain SureLock bicycle locks can expose their CR1220 coin-cell batteries, creating an ingestion hazard. The recall covers the LED key; the lock and other supplied keys remain usable. Affected products are SureLock Protector 1 DT, Protector 1 STD and Flex Key Coil 15. Stop using the affected LED key and take it to a GIANT retailer for the partial refund described in the notice.
CANADA · Fire risk in DR Power trimmers Official notice: October 8, 2026 · Health Canada RA-82694 Grass and debris can collect inside affected Pilot and Premier trimmers and catch fire. The listed model numbers are T4X1076DMN, T4X1176DMN and TR43076DMN. Owners should stop operating affected machines and obtain DR Power's repair instructions. Check the model and serial label on the side frame against the notice before arranging the remedy.
EU FOOD-SAFETY NOTIFICATION · Chicken thigh fillets Notification: October 9, 2026 · RASFF 2026.8971 Czechia reported Salmonella Infantis in chilled chicken thigh fillets originating in Hungary. RASFF records a potentially serious risk and classifies the entry as an information notification for attention. The official page lists no remaining stock in Czechia and says the product is presumably no longer on the market. No retail brand or batch is identified in the public summary. Consult the linked notification and the relevant national food-safety authority for product-specific advice.
EU FOOD-SAFETY NOTIFICATION · Apple juice Notification: October 8, 2026 · RASFF 2026.8960 Germany notified RASFF about patulin in apple juice from Germany. The entry is an alert notification with a potentially serious risk decision. The public summary does not identify a retail brand or batch. The notification's origin information alone does not establish distribution across every EU country; check the official notice and national authority updates for affected products.
US REMINDER · Walmart Expert Grill brushes Original recall: October 1, 2026 · CPSC 27-010 This earlier recall remains relevant: about 4.48 million metal-bristle grill brushes are covered. Loose bristles may reach food and cause internal injury if swallowed. Check the five affected brush models in CPSC's notice, stop using a matching brush, and ask Walmart about the refund or store-credit remedy. This is an earlier recall observed again in the reporting window, not a new October 10 announcement.
Coverage and source dates This is a selection of US and Canadian recalls and EU food-safety notifications, not a complete worldwide tally. Official notices control product identifiers, distribution, remedies and later updates. The reporting window ends at 13:00 UTC on October 10; events observed afterward belong to the next window.
