CPSC recall 27-070 · Announced November 5, 2026 · C.A.M.P. · Last updated

Is my C.A.M.P. mountain ice axe recalled?

Yes, if you have a C.A.M.P. X-Dream (model 3570), X-Dream Total Dry (3609), X-All Mountain Hammer (3630), or X-All Mountain Adze (3631) in the listed batches, or accessory nut-and-bolt kit model 3641. On November 5, 2026, CPSC announced C.A.M.P.’s recall of about 2,230 mountain ice axes (recall 27-070). A screw can loosen during use so the handle or pick detaches, posing a risk of serious injury or death from a fall. No incidents reported as of SaferProducts/CPSC framing for this notice. Stop using the recalled ice axes immediately. Register at camp-usa.com/x-bolt-recall-102026 for a free repair kit (have model and batch from the side of the shaft ready). You may repair the axes yourself with the kit or have the firm repair them — the firm will send a prepaid shipping label and packaging for return. CPSC notes the new screw is marked with a batch number and the new nut is black (accessory kit images on the notice). CPSC did not publish UPCs — this page does not invent UPCs or invent batches for kit 3641. Photos: see CPSC’s notice. Other ice-tool brand recalls (e.g. Petzl) are separate — do not merge unit counts.

Fall hazard

CPSC: “A screw on the recalled mountain ice axes can loosen during use, causing the handle or pick to detach, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fall hazard.”

Incidents/Injuries (SaferProducts): None reported.

This page is not climbing technique or medical advice. Stop using recalled axes — do not invent fall or injury case narratives.
